Amigurumi 101: Flexi-time Online Workshop

This is a Kickstarter workshop for everyone interested in crochet and amigurumi. Anyone over the age of 9 can learn this craft. As a means to engage your creative self, to make something adorable, to alleviate anxiety and stress, or to simply practice your hand-eye coordination, amigurumi is ideal.

These 18-20 hours are designed to help you become an independent crafter. We familiarize you with the history of the craft, the difference between crochet and amigurumi, basics of this craft, materials needed, pattern reading, and more!

If you love creating something with your hands or gifting a handcrafted toy to yourself or your loved ones, this is for you!☺️

Course Duration: 45 days – 18-20 Hours (9-10 sessions) (Twice a week)

Flexi-time Schedule: You have the flexibility to choose the days and times that suit your schedule best. The workshop will be spread over 9-10 sessions, with each session lasting two hours.

Start Date: Your workshop will commence one week after your registration date.

Course Curriculum: The workshop will cover the following topics:

Crochet Basics:
 
Introduction and becoming comfortable with the crochet hook and yarn
Creating a slip knot
Mastering the chain stitch
Practicing single crochet
Advancing to double crochet
 
Project: 2D Purse Multi-use Pouch As a supplementary project, you will have the opportunity to practice your skills by making a 2D Multi-use Pouch.
 
Amigurumi Basics:
 
Mastering the magic ring technique
Working single crochet in a magic ring
Increasing stitches
Decreasing stitches
Achieving an invisible decrease
Reading amigurumi patterns and recipes
You’ll create a De-stress Ball while learning the above stitches and techniques, absorbing your amigurumi lessons in a fun and creative way.
 
Project: Amigurumi Turtle During the workshop, you will create your very own amigurumi turtle from start to finish.
 
Course Kit: To participate in the workshop, you will be provided with a comprehensive course kit that includes the following items.
 
6 balls of yarn
3 mm crochet hook
Thread Cutter
Tapestry needle set
Cotton stuffing
Black embroidery floss
Stitch Markers
